The Luke 1977 range was founded in 2001 by Luke Roper, and has been worn by celebrities from the Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs to Danny Dyer and Stephen Graham. Roper learned he had a gift for sewing and designing after watching his mum create wedding dresses out of their home. When the young Luke tried his hand at patterns he found that he had skills, enough so that he was able to fund his higher education by making clothes for friends on the side. In the nine years since Roper created Luke 1977 the clothing brand has become one of the most well known and sought after casual ranges in Britain.

While the brand started with t-shirts that Roper sold out of a van, it is no longer just about this one classic item. Instead Luke clothing offers a multitude of different pieces to choose from including jeans, shoes, knitwear, watches and wallets. Of course, each of these items boasts the iconic Luke’s lion crest usually on the shoulder or chest.
